I feed my dogs on burns (although i'm thinking on changing to JWB) as i like giving hard food as it is good for their teeth. I ould like to start giving them stuffed kongsa to keep them occupied when i'm at work, and somebody told me thay stuff it with nature diet. (which i consider to be a good food). Would it be wrong to use this or naturediet light in the kong and reduce their main meal a little to compensate or will it upset the balance?

Should be fine, using the "light" is a very good idea.

Great idea and I can highly recommend as this is what we do.  Mine no longer get breakfast and have kongs instead stuffed with naturediet and some kibble and whatever else is left over such as chicken etc.  Takes them ages to get through it and if you freeze it as well it takes them even longer and is very good for a teething youngster.

Can i just add something without being argumentative. "dry food is good for their teeth"  this would be like us saying eating cookies will clean our teeth. All food sticks on teeth especially gummy dried and wet foods and the only way to get rid of it is buy giving a raw bone or by brushing. There are too many dogs getting regular, uneccasary dental cleanings and the vast majority are fed dry food.

Just a thought :)

I see what you are saying, but my dogs also get regular teeth brushing sessions.

Sorry have to disagree slightly.  I don't regularly brush my dogs teeth at all and they don't get raw bones very often - seem to be quite hard to get hold of these days.  They generally have kongs of several different sizes etc and have never, to date, had a problem with brown teeth.

You're lucky. I feed my dogs a mix of raw and complete, and brush their teeth every week, and still they get tartar ..
