does  any 1 know how to stop my three dogs from howling and barking when the fire engine goes past ...  shouting does not help or a bark buster collar any 1 got any other idas.

Only advice I can give is to call them too you whenever it comes past and give them a big reward (this was how I stopped my dog barking at the dog at the top of the garden).  I'm not surprised the Bark Buster collar didn't work as IIRC it works on sound, so just one dog barking would result in the dog wearing the collar getting zapped wether it was barking or not - this doesn't let the dog make the connection between barking and the punishment :(

we put the collar on the one that started the howling ....   he has done it for year (hes my partners ) dog and has got away with it.  I have since moved in and he has started mine off........  so im trying to break old habits.

I hate to say this but we never did stop one of ours. We lived practically next door to a fire station (my ex was a fire fighter, but not at that station). Every time they were called out she howled. All her life. There is something about the tone that upsets them. The other dogs used to look at her as if she had gone mad. I know this doesn't help, but I do feel for you.

we only live round the corner from the firestation but its just neighbours may end up complaining withthree dogs howling and yapping ....i  have to admit it sounded funny at first but now ...ahhhhh ....

i do find it uite strange as three are howling and theres like a little yap in with the howling   ...so one is very clever and can howl and yap at the same time

IS THIS POSSIBLE.......

I have 6 who howl at fire engines, ambulances and police sirens !!!!!!!!! I would like to hear from someone who knows how to stop them too....but this has been going on since 1989...and has passed through the generations............they dont do it, if they are loose though, only if they are in there kennels. They do stop if I open the door and scowl and shout....sometimes.....
