hi everyone.
only been registered on here for a few days now and had a thought about posting a problem we had with are border collie bitch though the problem has stopped now for a few months thank god.
in 2000 i brought an 8 week old border collie bitch. she was my baby and my two kids idolized her.
she came up to bed with me and got on the bed for cuddles with me [bad i know].
then in 2001 my partner and i got married hence we started living together as 1 big happy family.
Bonnie our collie was never pushed to 1 side infact hubby was also daft with her and cuddled her on the bed as well.
The only thing i forbid was she was not allowed to go in my kids bedrooms but the rest of the house she could wonder freely.
One day, cant recall exactly what we were doing but in our bedroom she jumped up on the bed and weed on my hubbys side[haha]
we told her off basically, bad girl made her get down and obviously changed the whole bed.
when we got in bed she actually got up as much to creep and say sorry.
However she started doing the same thing about once a week?
It didnt stop here, we caught her during the day weeing and poohing on our sons bed then a later date she weed on our daughters.
we just couldnt work this out, nothing had upset her or changed in her routine or neglect in any way she was and still is a spoilt brat.
present day we have not had this happen for several months she just stopped??weird?

HI,
Years ago I rescued a Siberian Husky and she did this as soon as she got into the bedroom. Only ever on my husbands side of the bed. We changed sides to see if that would stop her but she also changed sides.
She must have been a very clever dog as my husband started to be 'not so nice' and we divorced. When I met someone else I warned him what she did, she never wet on the bed when I was on my own. Tamara never wet on the bed again, I did buy a new bed, until just before she died at 11yrs old. That wasn't her fault it was just old age.

Hi Sue, Morning!!

I'm no expert, but I think it's something to do with them being able to smell your 'scent', no consolation I know, and not sure how to stop it, but perhaps it's an insecurity thing??

Hi Liberty, sorry i missed you this morning ,i think you are right ,insecurity has a lot to do with it ,allthough we  rescued her   we were lucky we were given quite a lot of first hand info on her (we were told her  owners were from the  wealthy ,stock broker belt in surrey and had just decided that at just six months they could not cope with her anymore !!) we were also told that she was not good with small children ,they think she was teased quite badly ,the girls at the rescue home spent a long time with her trying to re socialise her ,and they did a great job .As i have said many times on c.d. she is a wonderful little girl ,stubborn, self willed, and can dig for England ,but who ever expects  an easy time with a puppy !but she is very posessive where i seem to be concerned ,but this peeing/ scenting , seemed to be getting less and less ,then a few weeks ago my cousin who i had not seen for almost eighteen years came to stay ,so there were  lots of hugs and kisses ,and Lola promptly went upstairs and peed on my daughters bed where they were sleeping !!maybe that was putting her own scent over what she percieved as interlopers(or am i crediting her with too many human emotions here again?) and then yesterday our bed !, and even before i saw what she had done i knew she had done somthing wrong because instead of going bonkers when i came in she slunk out of the dog flap and would not come in for ages ....yes she stayed out in that foul rain !!i if it realy is insecurity ,what else can i do to make her feel secure ?because i swear i have absolutely no idea  what it could be ,and John is fast losing patience! Take care Sue T xx

Hi Sue

Sorry but I don't know what to suggest; hopefully some more knowledgable folk will be able to offer you some advice.

Good Luck :)
