Topic Dog Boards / Behaviour / jealous behaviour?

we have a 4 year old male terrier cross who has recently started growling and behaving aggressively to other dogs when he is receiving attention from us or anyone who is making a fuss of him. We have tried telling him off and generally reprimanding him but it has not made any difference. He is generally very friendly and good with other dogs but we would like to get him out of this bad habit as soon as possible. Has anyone any suggestions?

Any sudden onset of aggressive behaviour should be checked out by your vet to discount any medical reason as pain makes a dog feel more vulnerable and there fore more inclined to attack :(

we don't think he is in any pain - he is very fit and healthy and, apart from this, his behaviour has not changed at all. he is a rescue dog and this problem is only showing itself as he is getting more friendly towards people.
