Hi,
My family and I recently got a 13-week-old yellow lab (now 16-almost 17-week-old) and she is jumping like crazy. Everytime we leave her for a bit, we come back and she jumps all over us. It is very annoying and it gets us dirty. What should I do about it?

Take no notice of her when you come in, and greet her when she calms down. Otherwise it's a question of waiting for her to grow up. If you get dirty, never mind. Clothes and skin are washable. Be grateful that she's pleased to see you!

Thanks, I hope it works. I have also heard that you should put your knee up in their chest so that they can't jump...should I try that as well or is that something I shouldn't try?

no don't do that you could hurt her!!!ignoring all her jumping will work, as will ignoring any other negative behaviour, but don't resort to kneeing her or she will become scared of you .:)

my little midget wife used to jump up on me when i got home and this got her to stop :): whenever she jumped up, i grabbed her arms and held them until she got uncomfortable. be very nice and pleasant about it... she will learn that jumping up is not as much fun as she thought it was. however, if your dog likes it, you are screwed.
