I have aquired a new puppy a few days ago, she is 6 weeks old and of the boxer breed. I noticed after she has settled in my household she has started to chew on random soft things (including house member hands and feet) i was wondering if there i was something i could do to stop this? Or is it something i have to wait for her to grow out of?

Hi,
If you do a "search" (top right-hand corner of the board) and type in "Mouthing" you'll find loads of pevious threads on the subject. It is a normal thing for puppies to do, and they do grow out of it, some quicker than others, but by the time their adult teeth are all properly through they will have stopped. Once they lose their milk teeth it doesn't hurt nearly as much!

I'm conflicted to which method to use. Are there any other particular special ways to stop the mouthing?

My 3mth old Cav is the same, she chews anything from fingers to door frames. I haven't found anything that works except to say a firm "no" to her. All pups teethe like babies do so when she starts chewing things she shouldn't I will give her one of her chew toys which works for a short time. Its part of being a puppy really.
