I have seen several adverts tonight I one of the usual dodgy puppy selling websites claiming Maltese crosses to be none moulters. This is a new one to me, so is this a new myth doing the rounds.
3 girls and 1 boy they are non moulters good for allergy sufferers. That is part of one advert.

Looking at it and the Maltese seems to be suffering like the poodle, nearly all the adds were crosses. Havatese, mokies, michons and lhatese to name but a few :(
What a load of tripe!!!! Problem is the sort of people to buy a puppy from a website or newspaper add are the sort to believe anything that is written. Good luck to them with the 'non moulter' though!!!

I was looking at adverts on a website an couple of weeks ago, for Poodles -long story which isn't relevant. I found it very sad to see one advert that stated they had a Poodle pup for sale as the woman's husband was allergic to it. The pup had been bought because a VET told them the husband would be fine with a Poodle as it does not shed! Another advert offered a young Poodle for much the same reason -son allergic to it, had bought the breed just because they'd been told it would cause no problem to allergy sufferers. So all these designer crosses that may even end up shedding as much as any other dog, are certainly no safe bet.
One of the reasons it's so important to have the families and allergy sufferers come and visit.
I don't understand why someone would want a cross when you can buy a healthy, pedigree, non-shedding dog for the same price if you look in the right places.
