If Higham Press (or similar) say they never recieved an entry form or payment for a show, but you have the post office receipt for the postal order sent, are you still able to enter said show on the day you are due to go?
Not sure on that one - I know if you have a proof of postage, that is accepted. Happened to someone I know just recently, she got to the show, found she wasn't in the catalogue, but because she had the proof of postage from the Post Office, she was allowed to enter her dogs and it was marked up in the catalogue on the day. She said that is the only thing accepted by the KC as proof of entry.

AFAIK the only acceptable proof is PoP slip although I'd imagine recorded delivery with a signature would have to be accepted also.
Even if entries are lost, you can still take the dog to the show with any evidence you have of an entry being made and report to the show secretary prior to judging of your breed/class. Should the proof offered fail to satisfy the Kennel Club (these circumstances are noted and reported by show secretaries to the KC) any award(s) won may by the dog at that show will almost certainly be withdrawn.

That's how I understand it Teri ;-)

You do Not have to show the proof of posting at the show, you complete a new entry, pay the fees and enter. Some time later the KC may contact you asking for your proof of posting. The Secretary should then give you a slip to hand to ring steward allowing you to enter your class, they then have to make a note and ammend judges book & catalogue. ONLY THE KC CAN DISQUALIFY.
Do not let anyone bully you into not showing if you know you can provide POP on request by the KC. A slip date stamped by post office whether official receipt or paper with address sent to are acceptable as is SAE or postcard signed dated & returned by Secretary on receipt of your entry.
The post office receipt for the postal order only prooves that you bought the postal order on that day
it doesn't proove that you posted it the same day. So I doubt it will proove your entry but the best thing is to ring the kennel club
and check.
I've had to use my proof of postage once but am glad that I did get it as I won the class I'd entered.

Marion is right, the things she mentions is the
only proof,
not any other. The KC will tell you the same as Marion.
