Most forms seem to refer to partner.  Don't know about Marital status???

Many forms say "Married/living as married".

I guess that covers it then. :-)

We were watching the news this morning where somebody mentioned what about bisexuals or transgender as they also have a problem with being discriminated.

Well it gets tricky on the transgender front because if a man and woman are married and one transitions, they are still married in the eyes of the state and most certainly in the eyes of the church, but they cannot be recognised legally as the sex they transition to unless they get divorced. If they then wnat to remain in the same relationship they have to have a civil partnership.

If in their new sex and divorced they want to get married to someone of the (now) opposite sex they can- as they are legally certificated as whatever their new gender is.

if you have two people of the same sex where one transitions and they are not civilly partnered they can then get married.

If you are bisexual, well it simply depends on your soul mate. If it is same sex you are CP'd if opposite sex you get married.

if a man and woman are married and both change sex, do they need to get divorced and then remarried (so the wife becomes the husband and the husband becomes the wife) in order to have their new sex legally recognised?

I'm no expert and I'm sure there'd be a body of case law that would give the right answer, but assuming I have got it the jist of it I think that either they'd have to stay married but neither would be recognised by law in their new genders or they'd have to get divorced to get their new genders recognised and then remarry on that basis- I guess the various churches would take different positions (RC presumably would view them as still married even after sex change...?)

I may have this all wrong, but it's my understanding of how it would work.
