Perhaps it's because the people who are against hunting are not posting & from a look at the breeds of the people who post for I would expect them to be pro blood sports

I am still waiting to have one of the pro hunting people explain why the hunts can get away with theior dogs killing other peoples pets without prosecution or redress from the courts ? But if my GSD did the same I would be in court & my dogs destroyed ?

Why slaughter hounds on a yearly basis in large numbers ? simply because they are "not"up to scratch ? What would happen if I shot my cavaliers because they did not win in the ring ? would that be ok ? No of course not Yet the hunt do just that year in year out so how come that is ok ?

I do not expect a reply no one has replied to any of my ther posts on this topic

I will end with the story of a friend of mine who used to be a "servant"to the hunt(not employed you know but in service with them)At the end of his first season the master & whipper in sorted out the males & females into two lots & the best & younger hounds put back into the kennels-the others where put into some older kennels The master & the whipper in then killed all the hounds in these kennels & the local kancker man came & skinned the hounds & my friend was told to put the skinned bodies into the cooked vats & later that day the dead hounds bodies were fed to the other hounds. My late fiiend was physically sickened by having to do this & never went back. He had been pro hunting up until then but this treatment of the hounds showed him the true side of hunting & he became very anti the hunt & the people involved. He died aged 70 & the only request he made in his will was that no members or followers of the hunt be present at his funeral & that the collection if any be passed to an anti blood sport organization.

He has been gone for many years now, but I can see his face as the tears ran down it, recalling how the hunt reward their precious hounds,  there are two types of cruelty that done in igorance & that done deliberately & what the hunt did then & now culling hounds is definitely the latter.

I don't believe 28 people is a cross section of the population, don't forget there is a ban in the offing, making those against it more vociferous in their opinion, people for the ban really don't need to say too much.
There are probably a lot of people for the ban who are not willing to speak on here too......

Yep, and I bet the majority don't actually care!

What amuses me the most is he question of who is going to enforce the ban - our ONE community policeman??

and where are they going to put all of those who are going to break the law!!!!

Be very interesting to see traffic cops chasing the hunt across farmland and hedges in their fast cars. :-D

The prisons are full enough now, plus a large section of magistrates are hunt followers, so when they are imprisoned, who will sit in judgement :-D

By the way charliepud, where did I say it was a cross section of the population I said it was a poll of champdoggers, and it appear that the majority seem to be against the ban.

Well, you said a reasonable cross section, my apologies, I presumed, I didn't think a cross section of an internet forum would be indicative of much, just like asking one town or village....

Just my point Charliepud-no one has replied to my posts have they ?

Wasn't this Myxomatosis virus cultivated by man to get rid of rabbits ? As far back as the 30's it certainly was in Australia & I belive in the UK as well

http://www.the-piedpiper.co.uk/th14(d).htm(this link won't work) This  makes interesting readind & it's not from an anti hunting site

Good Kind Man kills rabbits Evil foxes then have to kill chickens etc

Have you ever seen the remains of a couple of cats after they have been torn apart by hounds ???

I have & it was horrific blood everywhere & the owner collapsed nearby

I live surrounded by farmers with sheep-the only carnage caused is by dogs found with the sheep still killing The free range chicken farms have never been raided by foxes due to having good protection(in mechanical & canine form). The organic farmer lost two in calf heifers three years ago when the hunt trespassed across his land in full flight making the heifers stampede. It was this last act that made the Parish Council act & the hunt are banned within the parish & all surrounding land

Fleas ? I dose my dogs with garlic & they naver have any

I never kill spiders why would I want to ?

I do not poison rats or mice they take there chances with the very large Farm cat that visits regularly & I've seen no evidence of rats

Garden pests ? Dealt with using natural solutions(natural predators of green flies etc sometimes they work sometimes they don't-if they don't work only plants suffer) & there are lots of frogs, hedgehogs & thrushs etc that dealt with snails etc

There is a wasp nest over my hedge which has been there for years & not I will not destroy it why should I ?

Sorry I live a very Green life no fly killing sprays in this house

I take it you enjoy seeing animals hunted to exhaustion then torn apart ? Enjoy the cull of old/useless  hounds at the end of each season ? Why not make it easier & good television by captive breeding of fixes & having the chase in an arena ?

To BlondeBird

No I do not eat meat, drink milk, wear dead animal skins & I take no medicines & use no products that are animal tested(oops better qualify that the drugs I take are tested on me so they are animal tested me being the animal)

I do not support hunting & yes I have seen foxhounds kill & no it is not clean, the sound of the fox screaming is in my memory forever, as is the sight of an old lady collapsed next to the remains of her dead cats killed by the hounds

Nature can be very cruel, witness the killing of penguins by seals & killer whales, the killing by the new male lion in a pride of all the cubs, cuckoos laying eggs in other birds nests & the chicks being raised instead of the parent birds own young, etc

I regularly get hate mail from hunt supporters because they know I dislike their"sport"& because they are not allowed to hunt through our village & most of the surrounding farm land. It is so sad they have to resort to such tactics, one day they will learn to wear gloves to write them so that no fingerprints are left. Court case in pending for the offenders(all paid up hunt supporters by the way)

One farmer had a lorry full of horse muck dumped on his newly laid house garden by the hunt because he refuses to give permission for them to cross his land. He just had it removed & returned to source & raised his garden walls & put in CCTV
