Sorry nope panting and shivering stopped not long after my post and has restarted just over half an hour ago with no stopping, digging, licking self and sniffing out her box

Come along now missy :)
Gosh she really does sound like my girl x
Well we have been panting for an hour solid now.. Digging, restless tail between legs and up and down so fingers crossed soon!!
the tail between the legs is normaly a sign shes haveing some strong pain ...should like its going to be today :) keep us posted x

snow puppies :)
No snow here.. Is bloody cold tho.. We are supposed to get snow later tonight followed by rain. We never get a good snow just a slush!
Have rang the vets and forewarned as she is still panting and shivering so it does look like within the next 24houra tops we should have some lovely fluffy bundles...
And now the cars broken!! Husband got a lift to work as it sounded funny asked me to just test it and it won't start.. Good job everything is fine here! Recovery will be here to fix it soon... Just our luck though

if i were you id check taxi numbers local just in case you need them. Good luck.
Thankfully the cold had killed the battery so good to go again

Blimey I couldn't have left a bitch of mine this long! I expect it must be different in your breed, but if one of mine had been showing signs for this long, I would have had a breakdown by now.
No, not true, as I would have been at the hospital before now. :-)
I don't know your breed, but it seems way too long to wait for my liking. I hope your bitch is okay, and not too worn out for the birth.
My breed are used to panting really big long think coats in the summer really prepare then for it bless them. She is resting and dosing on and off but you can still see the heavy breathing.. She's got free access to food and water but at the moment laying down in her box getting some zzzz.. It's going to be a long night.
They say this stage with panting can last over 24 hours in some cases, others only a couple or mere minutes.

Yeah vets not concerned on Monday as everything feels and looks good. On Monday my vet said he thought she still had a couple of days left but if no concerns and no pups come back on Friday. My vet deals with a lot of breeders his csection time runs on a half an hour start to finish aim unless unforeseen complications. He likes to be in and out as fast as possible to give mum And pup the best start as we was discussing this on Monday on a worst case basis. He and the vet nurse are aware of what's happening at the moment and are happy as long as she's happy and not straining with no pup appearing.
We all worry about our dogs but she's not distressed or anything so I am happy to let her continue at the moment as we all know oh to well not all bitches read the same books etc as us... I wish they did!

I remember my Clover started digging on day 59 from the first mating and eventually had her healthy litter naturally on day 68. Early digging and nesting seems to be the same as pregnant women tidying the house a lot and having Braxton Hicks contractions in the couple of weeks before their baby's born.
Yeah I nested with my kids weeks before I have birth and went early with my first and over with my second.. Always seemed to have a thing about cleaning the car.. Strange one me when pregnant

Mine (toy breed) often start nesting, looking in the garden for a good digging hole and often get into a panting session around 5-7 days before.
With the boxers a whelping could go on for 36 hrs...very long 1st stage followed by large gaps between pups and often what is referred to as the "whelping pause". That is the longer gap between pups, often with a longish nap, then off they go agin.
This is rather breed specific I'm sure and one reason it is a shame breed cannot be mentioned.

Congrats, how many?
Congrats!!! Have followed this thread and your girl has relly taken her time to whelp. Hope everything is well with mother and puppies.
So far we have 4.. 3 boys and 1 girl
Another boy out! Still more to come though

Hooray! So glad things are happening at last!

Mum is enjoying a bowl of chicken soup now.. Think there is one more though
She made us all wait ...... but sounds like it was all worth it :)
Congratulations, hope all continues well
Have notices the lighter the pup the delivery or want to clean after the birth seems less.. Our easy pups are all the dark ones..
Light one she did not clear it's face
Light two two sacs she gave up
Light three a dangler trouble detaching
Light four same as above
i sent you a message awhile back not sure if youv seen it? x
Just seen it and responded..
Just want her to be finished now so I can but the vet bed in the box and put her and pups in as she decided first in box the rest on floor but Sod's law I put the vet bed in and she drops another in the box

Was that it at 8 pups? Your going to be busy, the most I have had is 4 and they were bad enough once fully mobile
Yeah unless she's makin us wait again its 8pups last time we had 10 but only 9 live
Brilliant news. Well done to you and you girlie x
Mum is off to the vets something was retained... I've just found part of a paw in a pile of gunk.. She was showing no signs of anything being wrong until this pile

Sounds like history repeating itself, hope she will be OK and doesn't develop an infection.
Keep us posted
Just had a phone call as hubby has taken her while I'm home with the pups and kids they are going to give her an internal and see if they can feel anything as the first check, had to ring me to discribe the horror of my floor as hubby was not here to see it. They are hoping she managed to sneak one past us and that it was dead so she ate it but I'm not getting my hopes up. I expect her to come home with a strong long dose of antibiotics
They had a good feel inside and out, took her temp, gave her a complete check over and she's empty.
