It is so good to hear you so buoyant and pleased your boy is coping with the chemo and also enjoying his live, long may it continue but would not think you need to be looking to the future just enjoy today and look forward to tomorrow.

Oh what brilliant news.  Hope Luke continues to make progress.

Thanks for the update, so pleased he is still doing well through the chemo, how many more sessions is he to have?
- By AlisonGold [fr] Date 14.03.13 16:10 UTC
2 more sessions, one in 3 weeks and then the next in 6 weeks, then 2 months later another echocardiogram. It was so funny yesterday when he tried to jump up onto the table.

Brilliant news and I wouldn't worry about him only having one kidney. My Dad lived for 20 years with one kidney :) Give Luke a hug from me x

This is so exciting.  I am glad that you have given us an update.  It will give others the hope to keep going.

Give him a great big kiss from me.  I couldn't be more delighted for you.  :-)

Absolutely brilliant news - I'm so happy for you all I have tears in my eyes.....
- By AlisonGold [fr] Date 02.05.13 08:36 UTC
Just a quick update. Four and a half months on from his awful diagnosis and Luke has now finished his chemo and all is looking good. He will have another echocardiograph in 2 months time and keep checking that all organs are looking clear until next January and then after that (if all is still okay) he will be deemed cured. Can't believe that we are at this stage when it was such doom and gloom in December. Can hardly even remember how bad we felt as we are just so elated to see such a fit, healthy dog in front of us. It has been lovely to have such wonderful support from friends and from people on this forum. Thank you everyone.

Fantastic Alison! Miracles can happen!  So pleased for you all, as Pedlee said, long may it continue.

Best wishes, Linda

Lovely news and hope his good health continues

What wonderful news.  I can't stop smiling!

I am so glad that you have updated Luke's situation.  In such cases as this, when all looks pretty grim, I feel that it can also give hope to people in a similar situation.  Plenty of folk read posts even if they don't post themselves, so this sort of topic benefits many.

I am so very pleased for you.  :-)

Brilliant news - perhaps all our positive thoughts and vibes helped Luke a little.  So pleased for you all and I hope he continues to be clear of this awful disease.

What excellent news.

Sad news. The echocardiogram was done on Wednesday and the cancer is back. It is in the tissue at the site of where the kidney was removed. They cannot do surgery and they cannot do anymore chemo. They have sent us away with tablets (Previcox) which they reckon acts like a chemo and will hopefully slow the tumour down. Luke will be scanned again in 1 months time just to see how fast it grows. Looking for another miracle by the looks of it. Cannot believe that this beautiful active dog has now a limited time available. Thought we had beaten it!
- By Pedlee Date 13.07.13 12:03 UTC
Oh no, poor Luke and poor you.

Praying for another miracle for your special boy...

So sorry to hear your latest news especially after Luke was making such good progress - it all sounded so promising.  I am sure you will make each day a happy one for him and I hope you have many, many more days together.  I wish you the strength to enjoy every moment you have with him.  Best of luck with the latest treatment.
