BUT, there's hope, even though our cash rich friend (who shall remain nameless but there's a clue - think of someone 'up there' with a neoprene fettish ) has been ever so helpful, those of us less endowed (in many ways :-D ) can safely recommend the super dry, cumfy cosy, robustly constructed, faux fur trimmed, fleece lined and eco-nomical CUTESY BOOT but - and it's a big BUT :( it appears to be only available for BIG feet right now (too many recommendations!) :( so perhaps try (and I'd encourage haste :-D ) the equally (ok, almost) eco-nomical although admittedly less cute YARD BOOT

All clear now hun (yeah, I'll bet :-p )  Not as warm as tarring your tootsies but definitely softer than GRIT!!!!

I thought my £46 boot option was in the reasonable if not bargain range of foot joy. Cheaper than some of the posh wellies mentioned. I paid £14 for the Cotton Trader yard type boots I wore last year and they only lasted around 7 months and I didn't wear them everyday. If these last me years I call that wise shopping. Can you hear my purse squeaking from up there???

I got my eco-nomical Yard boot from Hyper Drug the pet chemist £24.99 plus postage as Robinsons didn't have my size any more.

I'm normally a 6.5 and went up to size 7, it is a snug fit. Although I've got a sore spot on my ankle of the foot that is one size smaller than the other.
However other than that quite comfortable and kept my feet nice and warm in the cold snap.

It was so nice actually having 'traction control' on pavements rather than sliding around when the girls pulled.
Plus having velcro no more laces that undo several times on a walk - bliss.

Did notice that lots of people at dog show were wearing muckers or that type of footware now
whereas previously I hadn't noticed the footware.

Posh pricing Mrs C you're not really one us   masquerading as a scot but spending that kind of cash on wellies (gotta admire your clout hun :-p - any chance of passing your words of wisdom on how to wheekle similar from my OH - pretty pleeeeease :-D )

Lori - ive just looked at the website and there are loads to chose from, which ones do you have ? Im looking in the under £50 bracket.  Im fed up with my hunters wearing out after 6 months and they have no grip on them (and with a bit of a baby bump now I need even more help to keep upright !!) Where I walk is usually muddy and when the mud slides away its really chalky and slippery, when we have rain the puddles are really deep - nice places I walk ;)  Are those wellies waterproof all the way up ? (or is that a stupid question ?)

I have the Derwents, just under 50 quid. They are waterproof all the way up. I walk in places like you - sometimes the water is several inches deep and you sink in the mud. The neoprene in the boot and leg are very insulative so you don't feel the cold water either (just had this discussion this morning as my walking buddy has Hunters)
