the worse case of food guarding ive witnessed, was a gsd who came in for a general health check, when new clients come into the practice i go andmeet the owner and dog so the dog gets a welcome.

so i started stroking this young male gsd, and then i gave him a treat and one more, then they were ready to be seen , so i retracted my hand and went to step backwards- this gsd lunged at me aiming for my hands, luckily i pulled them away quick enough, but i still got a slight bite on side of hand.

i  was shocked and had chat with local apdt trainer (who had seen this dog in past), she instantly recognised food guarding. i didnt realise it affects them with the littlest of treats!

Im confident i could take things of ether of my dogs with no trouble but i dont do it just because i can.
ebonys the worst for nicking stuff and running of with it but being a pup i expect it,  she is learning the word drop it. if she dusnt drop it i just do wat jg sujested about pressing the upper lip on the sharp canines, she soon lets go :d
i dont think i could keep a dog i didnt feel i could trust,i meen i know you cant trust anydog 100% but i like to think mine are an acception :)
