The hormones released during pregnancy have a totally different physical effect to the lack of them post-menopause.

So this means that i don't have anything to fear??
I am assuming that too little hormone won't affect me, it's just when i was pregnant, too much did?
If so then that short statement you just typed has totally changed my view of the future. i really mean that. I love champdogs!!

Helen I take HRT because I've had a hysterectomy.  I found that I can't cope without HRT and that the stability is the influencing factor, I can't cope with hormones going up and down as they do pre-menopause.

One factor which has just occurred to me is that I've had less trouble in the night with migraine since I bought a memory foam neck pillow.  It seems to help loads taking the pressure off the back of my neck.

I wondereed how HRT would affect migraine. In fact i was having that very conversation this luchtime!

I have an appointment with a cranial sacaral therapist tomorrow so hopefully that my sort my neck/back out!

Helen, as mentioned previously HRT is fantastic but bear in mind I don't make my own hormones so need to take them in HRT form.  This means that each day my hormone levels remain constant (give or take!).

I would be very interested to hear how you get on at the cranial sacral therapist AND what recommendations they give for a pillow!

The cranial was great! really relaxing and slow. Thats what i didn't like about chiro, all that pulling and pushing and clicking... You can feel when she puts her hands on your head that she has got the right spot, and find yourself thinking, left a bit, up a bit and then she does, without you even saying!!

I had cranial about 4 years ago but not for migranies as it was before i was pregnant. It helped my back a lot but it has been hard to find a practictioner (my other one gave up:rolleyes:) so when i saw a new person had started up i was very pleased.

Interestingly, she didn't say anything about pillows or how to lie in bed, although i don't use a pillow if i lay on my back so perhaps thats why. She did say i need a different bag though!!

Fantastic!  Handbag shopping on doctors orders!  More of that please!

Glad it went well.  Interesting article on hormones in Psychologies magazine this month with reference to HRT/migraines, etc.
