me personally Jeff? I would doubt it for the simple reason that any packs who have pure breds in them are already using the same stud dogs (pure bred) that are availbale to me now! I have no desire to add x-breds into my lines thanks :)
As mentioned before, I only know of one pack which uses pure breds, but even that is because they do working trials with them......the pure breds are not really useful in a mounted pack as they are (by their very intention & breeding purpose,) too slow for a fast ridden pack for the purpose of providing sport. That is NOT what a bloodhound has been bred & developed for over hundredS of years & thaTs why they need to add dashes of foxhounds etc.

I see, so basically (as I understand it) what you and I would call/see as a bloodhound has been bred to follow a scent with handlers on foot whereas the hounds from the packs have been adapted to follow a scent at a rate more suited to mounted followers and are therefore lighter in build etc?
