Hi Fiona,
I just read through the whole thread now, sorry about all your troubles lately. True that when it rains it pours. I'm most concerned about your poor little one being sick. Chicken pocks and measles can be serious diseases. I hope she gets better real soon. As far as holly is concerned with the "agressive" behavior, I would suggest(when you have the time)taking her to your daughters school(providing the teachers over there allow this sort of thing). I bring my puppies over to school for show and tell. I have the kids sit down in a circle with the puppy in the middle and they interact nicely, all the while I tell the pup what a good pup they are. I encourage children to approach the puppy on walks, but have no problem telling a wild child to go easy or hands off(don't care what the parents say to that). I always watch carefully over the situation both kids and dog and praise my dog mightly for good behavior. I also try to condition my dogs to handle some pulling of ears, tail, coat so that I can see first hand how they will react. I expect kids to do some mild pulling etc. In the states I think more people are becoming aware of doggy manners and asking first before they approach. Don't feel bad about telling troublemakers to back off. Not only are you protecting your dog, but them too. Now is the time to do all that important socialization that will pay off. But you are having so much going on I understand. Hopefully things will get better quick!
We all know what a good and devoted mom you are, we're behind you 100%

We've solved the food problem and the itching problem. Our 4yr old has taken it upon herself to share her food with Holly. We are trying to build Eloise up and giving her lots to eat which she doesn't want so she gives it to the dog instead!! Holly is now shut out of the kitchen when Eloise is eating.

As for the itching Holly lies in front of the washing machine when I put the washing in and I've been dripping lavender oil on her when I shake the bottle. I knew she smelt nice but thought it was because she keeps lying on the pile of clean nappies.

So, that's 2 problems solved. Just the police and the pulling to go now.

Thanks,

fiona
