Hi - just thought I would drop a note to say that my Flatcoat with Cystic Kidney had blood tests done yesterday. Her Blood Urea is back to normal. Her creatinine level is coming down and her phosphorous is normal. This is a big improvements on her blood test 2 months ago and I have to put it down to the Burns food. She is fit, lean and well. Long may it continue.

My cats have had burns from kittens and my pup is on it too. They all have added extras and are all looking good (apart from the pup is a bit on the lean side but I think thats cos he is a setter  )
Hi - my Flatcoat is now on Burns, as she has a kidney problem. But she's not really keen on it and I have to jazz it up with other bits and pieces. She has never liked dry food on it's own.

As long as you are prepared to add nice bits and pieces she will refuse to eat it without. No reason why you should not but if you want her to eat just Burns then stop adding to it.
Or ask them to send you a sample of all the different types so you can see if she prefers one better than another.
Hi Jackie - I know what you are saying, but it's a bit of a problem with the polycystic kidney disease as it is important for her to eat. She has a slightly loose tummy at the minute, so I mixed some Burns with Yoghurt today (recommended by the vet) - gone immediately!! She is very lean on the Burns which is fine and she's lively, but if I put the Burns down on it's own, she just walks away. Tried for a couple of days. It's not just Burns, same with Euk and Hills, although the difference with the Burns was that for the first 3 weeks she ate it just fine - I'm sure they must get bored with the same dry stuff.

I know how the dogs feel, I tried the kelloggs diet and only last a few days cos it was so boring - must be the same as being on a complete dog food ;)
I would also like to add that I know above I said my pup was doing great on Burns well I had to take him off it because he wasnt gaining weight and when I upped the amount it went straight through him, I changed him to BARF and he is now thriving. Different foods suit different dogs though.
My cats are still doing great on it :)

hi my yorkie kiku has the Burns puppy while he was 8 weeks old, her breeder gave me the bakers and EUKANUBA to feed
but b4 I took my gal back home, I have done a lots of research about dog dried food. I really go for Burns.
When 1st week kiku at my home, she was 7 1/2 weeks old. And I have ordered the Burns puppy, but not arrived yet.
I gave kiku a few pieces ( in fact i dont want to give her, but breeder said she started with brakers ), kiku doesnt eat any food except bakers
and milk. But even I gave her bakers she cant chew at all, so she licked the red color water that bakers mixed with water, diarrhoea happened. I did try to give her EUKANUBA (she even cant chew) tinned tuna, oat, scamble eggs, but she still no eat... until I got burns when she was 8 weeks. She really could chew, and liked to eat. I was so great and cried with my family. Cuz we really worried kiku didnt have enough diet during 1 week, and no more diarrhoea.
Now, she is 11 months old and having Fish And Brown Rice mix with Lamb And Brown Rice in 2 meals, Kelties & Ocean Bite daily treat.
During her diet with Burns, no any problem at all. Very nice coat, very lean body but firm muscles. Eyes are clean and no unpleasant body odours.
But i also interest to know anybody tried the ROYAL CANIN 28 special for yorkie , sounds specialist, but donno how really good is.
:)
My dog is now wolfing down the Burns and don't worry about any dust - mix it with plain bio live yoghurt - just a spoonful. She loves it, obviously likes her food slightly wet. Also the yoghurt puts paid to any tummy troubles! Wish I'd thought of it sooner.
Well, further to previous posts, my dog is eating the Burns & Yoghurt OK, but although her stools are OK in the morning and afternoon, as soon as she has eaten in the evening, she has totally liquid stools - bright yellow. This has been going on for days. I'm at my wits end.

Hi
My girls are all on the burns diet. Yorkies Pugs and shap-peis. I have tried them on other recomended diets but always end up going back to the burns. The only downfall i find is they lose a little weight on it, but this seems to right itself and the dogs are healthier. Each of my girls eats a different amount, whilst this is ok to put a serving in each dish for them to eat whatever they want, I do have one who is a pig and will overeat. with this she gets the runny toilet. if i weigh her and give her the correct amount, in say a couple of smaller meals this is corrected.
Give it a try, it might just be yours are overeating.

I have just swtched my two pups to burns and they love it, and I must say their coats are fantastic, really soft and shiney. They were previously on Pedigree Chum and Beta.
My pups think its great
