Chloe, please don't feel guilty. When you had Annie you gave her food, comfort, care and love, and when the time came you gave her the greatest gift of all; you gave her peace. She was a special pony for a special lady and you should be very, very proud of yourself :)

I know how you feel. It's just soooo heartbreaking, isn't it.
You helped her, you did what had to be done, as she had given up herself.
The pain in your heart will lessen, and in time you will feel proud that you helped a wonderful animal find peace.
Try to find comfort in the thought that her remaining time was spent with loving, caring people, rather than with a neglectful (altho he possibly wasn't neglectful intentionally) owner.
Try to feel pleased that she is no longer suffering.
You made a brave decision, and I'm sure our pets would thank us for that.

I'm so sorry....

Wish I could do or say something to make you feel better. I know how awful it is, but you did everything right.
Annie is not in pain any more and she's happy where she is. She'll be running around like a foal up there.

I'm crying as i'm typing this, because I totally understand how horrible it is, and the hole that's left after they've gone.

Words will not ease the pain, I know, but hopefully you can take some comfort in them.
