i usually use a bit of bleach on the spiders sam, it kills them pretty fast, and i dont have to run downstairs to boil the kettle.

Or, if you want to catch them, most creepy crawlies make great snacks for hamsters! Mine used to love a spider, they hold the legs and bite the head off, and then lick all the spider goo off their cute little faces! mmmmmm!

Went to my mum and dads last night. They'd been up most of the night before worried that the house might burn down.

Just before going to bed my dad heard a sizzling noise in the kitchen, the TV was on and dad thought it was that that was faulty. He switched it off and unplugged and still he could here sizzling and thought that he could smell smoke. He ended up throwing the TV out and thought that was that.

He later went back into the kitchen and still could hear the noise and smell burning so decided to switch the electric off. He opened the cupboard and there on the electric box was a slug short circuiting the thing and slowly cooking!!!! yuck

maybe for the spider, yes, but the hamsters an rats i had as a kid loved it! errrrr, put a glass over them, an slide some paper under it.

mostly i just chuck em outside though, dont like killing them.

My sister, (delightful child she was, NOT) used to delight in getting a big hairy housespider, and dropping it into a garden spiders web.

The result being that Mrs Garden Spider would rush out, tie all his legs together, and then eat him!

Yes, she was sick, and errrr, still is really!

My friend has a brat of a son and once after they had been to the park , catching baby frogs , he brought one home in a jam jar .
All the other kids were amazed at this little frog but the brat ended up putting it in a giant spiders web in the garden . The spider ran out and bit off one of its legs . :( My poor son who was only about 4 at the time was distraught !! :(
And no, the brat hasnt got better as he's got older

Going back to the copper wire suggestion, have just been looking through the Lakeland catalogue and they sell packs of copper wrap especially for putting round plant pots.

Not expensive either.

As a child I used to go fishing with my grandfather. He had a trick to make the maggots more wriggly, he needed to warm them up!

Wait for it girls!

He put them in his mouth for a minute or so!!

I never did that just in case I swallowed one or two.

My brother and I used to have magot fights though. We didn't throw them at each other, we aimed them and squeezed them hard until their insides flew out at the other person. :-) Splat!
