I just caught your last post - it would take to much study to know which dogs I was looking at over the years, so have all those related breeds got that eye disease?

There seems to have been a lot of mixing around of these dogs over the years, maybe thats related somewhere down the line to the eye disease.

The eye disease prcd-PRA is the msot common form of PRA (it only becmae appretn there wre different forms fo PRA when DNA study adn test amtign showed that diofferetn geens were responsible), Labradors have this as do Border collies etc.

List of breeds that cna be tested for thsi version: http://www.optigen.com/opt9_test_prcd_pra.html

Have no idea if the other breeds have PRA or this form of PRA as those breeds are not known here.

>> Depends on what she spends her time doing.  If she is there to help educate people in responsible animal ownership then a great many animals could be helped.

She is not doing any of that all she does is quote R£PCA policy and refers people back to their web site and call centers. If people are really interested in learning about animals and their health and welfare then the R£PCA is not a place I would advise them to look. I would for dogs refer people here or to the BVA/KC/ISDS Canine Health Testing Dates group on facebook if their inquiry is for health testing or health seminars.

If the R£PCA are so great why is it I know of several inspectors who have left in disgust at the way it is run at head office and how they use their funds? These are all genuine animal lovers.

You may not agree with everything they do, can't say I do either, but their web site contains lots of information about buying and caring for animals responsibly so I don't think you can say there is no purpose to her and fair play to them in attempting to stay up to date in their method of communicating with their target audiences.
