Thank you for making me laugh!

>On the positive side I have noticed my hosta's have been left alone

Wow!  That is unusual.  I gave up trying with them after the first couple of years, it was a losing battle.

That is funny as my Hostas are also intact.

Shame they don't like bind weed !

My Hostas are in the best shape they've ever been in......can't say much for the rest of the garden though.

I am still mystified about one of my standard roses. It was sprouting and looking really good until some unknown culprit chewed through all the shoots and it is just a stick now :-(

Eugh, this thread is making me heave! I used to keep and breed tortoises who would enjoy a big slug now and again. It'd make me sick but did them no harm! To get the slime off their mouths and enclosure I used black tea and it would come straight off :)

Dread to think how it got in but I have just found one sliming across my ceiling in the bedroom !!! I laid in bed, looked up and there it was, needless to say I got up early today.

Imagine if it had fallen off and landed in your mouth whilst you were asleep

pass the bucket I need to vomit

Hope you are feeling a bit better now :-)

I have just been to put the veggie left over from our roast dinner and fridge past their sell by date stuff on one of our compost heaps and I have never seen so many slugs in my life

They are every where :-(

We're invaded here too, but the pup likes to eat them <vom> so I am constantly trying to get them before she does... I am sick of telling her of the dangers of lungworm and being a collie, I like to avoid advocate, and panacur is a long course to kill lungworm :(

I considered salting the patio each night and then just hosing all the slime/ick off but I think that is really impractical?
- By Roxylola [gb] Date 09.07.12 16:26 UTC
I went out this morning with a sealed bucket full of salt water and caught as many as I could.  Not quite sure what to  do with the bodies now so I just put the lid on and left them to it!  I have considered salting too but I think in this weather it would just melt and slip between the cracks.  Also I have grass so I can't really salt that.
