I agree that I do not find the new site as "user friendly" . Myself and a friend put together my breed profile so I went to check and the photos are fine and the info is correct ( no spelling mistakes which I agree looks sloppy)
I feel that if some are unhappy with their breed information then they should say and maybe it will get changed- however the moderators did ask for input so any of you had the chance to contribute!
Hopefully it will become more user friendly with practice :)

As I'm no longer breeding, I haven't really looked - I don't spend half as much time on CD pages - forum or site - as I used to. Have you all notified Admin of your dissatisfaction? If Mark doesn't hear the critiscisms from the people he most wants to impress/be part of the site, he'll take no notice!

lopear same here been trying all day and still no luck !

In my experience he takes no notice when you email or pm him anyway :-)

I am not finding it very user friendly in comparison to the old site. Why change something when it doesn't need fixing?
I've just had a look at the new site too and I also don't find it as easy to locate what I'm looking for. I also had a look at my own breed's info pages and felt the urge to take a red pen to the punctuation and grammar but maybe that's because I'm old and was taught how to use it when I was at school!.................waits for someone to come on here and correct mine ;-)

I was trying to look at breeders and before it was simple, I could sort by name or location, now I have no idea how to start.................

Are these guides complete? Some have a link at the bottom to further info, some like the pug do not.
With reference to pug health, I am suprised that elongated soft palate and associated boas are not mentioned. Also pug dog encephalitis, for which there is now a susceptibility test available.
Hmmm, in my breed there is also no reference to the fact some Shelties suffer MDR1 or the fact there is a DNA test for CEA.
Also it doesnt have any description at all about how loud they can be and their tendency to bark although training can help some of the top breeders in the country struggle with the barking and live with it as part of their lifestyle which of course would not suit a flat, apartment or somewhere with overly fussy neighbors.
Although well written I certainly would not say that holds enough information for those who are looking at a Sheltie as a dog for them.

Just the same for mine, they can be problem barkers unless nipped in the bud also not obedient, I can see people getting one after reading it letting them off lead and wondering why they won't come back lol.
In regards to who said we had chance to contribute I only saw a thread asking for specific breeds and mine was not on it.
agree) but, all I can see is all the hard work that has gone into it........my goodness that is a lot of work and time put in. It must be devastating to read all these negatives
Agree......... personally I like the new layout and find it easy to navigate.
But have to add my own little negative with my breed..........
HD is not considered to be a problem in the breed. and most live long healthy lives into their teens,
!! when will our breeders open their eyes to HD and hip problems in the breed,

Haha, oh dear...I dont think enough is put into the breed pages to warn puppy buyers of the downside to each breed.
After reading the discription of my breed on their page I am very worried that people will go buy one and then realise just how hard it is to keep them quiet and them ending up in a rescue or being rehomed, I dont believe they suit all lifestyles either they cant be in a quiet, clean cut lifestyle due to their barking and excess hair loss.
I find it worrying that MDR1 is not mentioned and neither is the DNA CEA test, MDR1 has and will cause death if exposed to the products they are sensitive to. When I got my first Sheltie no one told me about MDR1 and I went out and used a product with ivermectin which if my dog had been MDR1 sensitive she could have become seriously ill or even died. Its not about testing for MDR1 either its about avoiding the products if the parents are not tested and informing puppy buyers of the risks so that they dont go through the heart break of a sick pup.

Can now see it , different but I am suree I will get used to it. Like the write up on fcr
Im sorry to say but I dont like this new lay out at all :-(
I can't see how to go to the kennel of breeders who are advertising pups? Now you can only see the litter, the writing is so small and usually you can go straight to the breeder by pressing a button on their litter page, where's it gone??
I loved the old lay out.........quite gutted!!
Hope everyone is well as I havent been on here a while! :-)

I'm sorry to say I'm not keen on the new design either.
Looking at my breed (for the breeders listings) there are 28 + pages, I can't see anyone having the will to look through all those pages! I realise you can sort by postcode but to be honest most people select a breeder on the quality of their dogs, how they care for their dogs/pups and their general attitutude to breeding (ethical/caring etc.) and not just because they live closest to them.
Many people wish to browse through all the dogs to see which ones they like the look of and then contact that breeder. It's the same with the stud dog pages. Far better to see all the dogs listed together and then take a closer look at the ones you might consider.
Shame the portrait pictures are all squashed too.
I realise that change happens for a reason, however I'd have liked it better if it was an updated version of the old style. To be honest as a web designer, if I produced a site with the poor navigation and layout of this new design I wouldn't expect to be paid for my work. I must say that having just renewed my subscription (been a full member just about since CD was born) I don't think the ability to showcase the dogs on CD is as beneficial as it was for the fee charged.
Sorry, but it really isn't up to scratch at the moment. Fingers crossed that CD will make some more changes (for the better!)

I think its a work in progress.. a refreshing change but needs a bit more thought.
HATE IT!! And yes I mean to shout!
I can't get past the home page. I just have a page that looks like lots of pages superimposed on each other. Don't know whether it's the site or my computer but it's very frustrating :( And it keeps shutting down Internet Explorer when I try again :(
When I've circumnavigated this by using my favourites to check out a Ridgie page, I must say that I much preferred the old layout - I find it very difficult to work out how to find things, maybe it's me but I gave up in the end.

It's not even so much the layout and navigation process that bothers me.
I'd love to know who wrote the breed information for my breed.

I dont like it either- difficult to find anything and the pictures are all stretched and look awful

Lel, what do you reckon on our breeds write-up?

Those stretched pictures are awful and driving me nuts!

> Those stretched pictures are awful and driving me nuts
I'm not seeing stretched pictutures, maybe there is something in the image/display properties in the new site that are stretching/squashing images to fit the resolution of different monitors?????
Images are appearing fine on both my PC & Laptop (LOL, no idea of the res. of either of them!).
See no health info for the Mastiff (
but they need room for a constant wagging tail?!!!)
I think it would be a great idea to include in EVERY breed, the relevent health tests for those breeds or at least a list of health concerns prevelant in that breed- a great way to inform potential puppy-buyers of what to look out for. I know this would be a lot of work, but would be very beneficial and provide a great resource for puppy-buyers/people looking at a 'new' breed for thierselfs.
ETA images appear fine on my iPod too.

The font is so tiny that it is almost illegible.
