> you going Pastoral day

oooo yes, yes, yes......  Have to see the Border Collies, have to befriend the Beardies (never known a nasty one) and just have to have a little peep at the Aussies.  The only reason I don't have one is that the one I reserved was born just before surgery on my right hand went wrong.  I couldn't have coped, living alone.  But was very upset at losing out.
- By Goldmali Date 25.02.11 23:27 UTC
If you get a moment Jean (yes I know -no such thing at Crufts!) come over to the Malinois and say hello. Anyone in the breed will be able to point me out.
- By Schip Date 25.02.11 23:56 UTC
Covering breed booth on Friday then watching judging on Sunday, didn't enter coz our girl was due in season, instead she came in 4 wks ago, too late to enter grrr lol.
- By Gabrielle Date 26.02.11 09:30 UTC
Ah Jean, come over and have Aussie cuddles.... I will be the one with a HUGE blue merle dog.

Gabrielle :-)

i will be there on gundog day ready to spend all my hard earned pennies, and to talk to all the flatties :).  good luck to anyone showing
- By roscoebabe [gb] Date 26.02.11 14:14 UTC
I had hoped to go friday and saturday but two of my sons are at work on the friday and my eldest son will be in hospital so I'm going sat and sun instead.
- By Reikiangel [gb] Date 26.02.11 17:22 UTC
Don't forget some comfy shes/flipflops.  Hate getting hot feet in same pair all day.

Should be there on the Sunday if my girl doesn't have her pups.  Not sure if able to leave her if she hasn't.  AND now panicking, was counting nearly three weeks to welp, not two.  Was prepared for date just didn't think it was that close.

I love the atmosphere at Crufts.

Will bath two days before, usually night before but could be welping.  Sorted out outfit for the ring; it amazes me how much i spend on that compared to c;othes i need.

I am there on Gundog day showing the ginger ninja :) and a spot of shopping.
- By rach_w [gb] Date 27.02.11 09:12 UTC
I'm going on Gundog day with one of my dogs... Mr Peg - he's entered in both the BASC Gamekeeper working dog class and the breed ring.  Millie is currently on Maternity Leave, so she'll be staying home to look after her brood.  I am also hoping to do a spot of shopping too. :)
- By cassis mum [gb] Date 27.02.11 21:25 UTC

ME me me me me me me me me me me and i can't wait lol.

I may even go for 2 days and go watch my friends bullmastiffs, ok so it can be busy as hell but i still love it!
- By tina s [gb] Date 03.03.11 14:18 UTC
any idea what time the giant schnauzers will be in the ring on the fri? apparently 200 st bernards are in their ring first!
- By Goldmali Date 03.03.11 14:37 UTC
Count on at least 2 minutes per dog, plus extra minutes for the challenges, BOB etc. So for 200 dogs to be judged that would be at least 7 hours. Are they really all in the same ring?? Sounds like madness.
- By Goldmali Date 03.03.11 14:40 UTC
Just checked and there are 84 St Bernards entered, not 200. :)
- By rachelsetters Date 03.03.11 14:57 UTC
That would be relief to those after them :)
- By tina s [gb] Date 03.03.11 16:41 UTC
sorry, there were 200 in previous years and i was guessing
- By Goldmali Date 03.03.11 17:13 UTC

- By tigran [gb] Date 04.03.11 13:56 UTC
I expect you know already, but you can see Gundogs at the Discover Dogs stands on all 4 days. My sister is going to do this as after watching the cardi judging think she is going to take herself off to cuddle some English Setters.!!!
- By Boody Date 04.03.11 14:30 UTC
I want to have a Tangle cuddle again

I met a kom called tangel outside at sutton show last week, hd was such a lovely boy nothing like I'd imagined them to be!

- By penfold [gb] Date 06.03.11 11:07 UTC
boo hoo.....not going so just going to have to console myself with more 4.  Couldn't get the Thrusday off work for Gundogs and, much as I would like to, simply cannot financially justify going all that way on another day.
- By JAY15 [gb] Date 06.03.11 11:31 UTC
anyone care to add to the list?

Valium for me I think...and we're still several days away. Planning to drive down at stupid o'clock to avoid traffic and have time to calm down (as if...) before we start at 8.30am--good luck to everyone going!
- By heidleberg [gb] Date 06.03.11 12:32 UTC
Im going on friday, by coach, with a friend, my friends been before but first time for me i cant wait really excited.
- By tina s [gb] Date 07.03.11 19:35 UTC
any idea how to get into an arena at crufts to see the obedience or agility? i dont even remember where the entrances are. do you have to pay extra or just wander in?
- By harkback Date 08.03.11 12:48 UTC
Well debating about going now as have just been told a dog is coming from abroad that is going to stay on WITH the judge after the show and be used on a bitch !!!   There goes the 12 month rule of not supposed to have had your hands on a dog prior to judging it, judge was at the owners home not long ago.  No wonder it is the lowest entry in breed history.
- By Goldmali Date 08.03.11 13:02 UTC

In that case, report it -don't just accept it, or accept rumours, whichever may be the case. The KC do check up on such reports, it happened to somebody I know, they were threatened with having a CC taken away. The KC looked into it carefully, got statements from people etc. In this case there was proved to not have been a breach of rules as nobody had handled it. BTW it is NOT just had their hands on a dog, it is handled the dog at a show, boarded it or prepared for exhibition.
