How very sad.
Well done to you for being stong enough to make that decision for him, it must have been very tough on you, but the best thing for the little fellow to save him from suffering.

Rest in peace Henry.

OK pups are still doing well and growing rapidly.
I now have a system going and feed then pop pup in washing basket which is in whelping box. Have placed a towel on top of vet bed to save changing vet bed so often (6 times yesterday). Once they are all fed and in basket I roll up the towel and pop in wash. Lay another towel and pop them back in the box. Towels are so much easier to wash and dry and catch all the poo.

I now have a friends girl here with her own puppies (4) and she is helping with the cleaning and I am hoping tomorrow may even let them feed. Have started her 2 week old pups on food so as to free up some of her milk.

My wonderful puppy buyers although too far away to help are wonderful support on the phone ringing to check I am coping.

Also thanks for all the support on here great to know I'm not alone.

There is one black girl in here whelped before the section and she makes me smile so fiesty and moves across the box at great speed and up to side as soon as I go near the box. Reminds me of Taryn who was fairly dominent and liked to get her own way. Taryn also moved at the speed of light and anyone who stood in her way got knocked over. Miss her so much but she gave me these great gifts and now for her I must raise them.

Got an hours sleep today first lot since losing my girl so that kinda helped for a while. I sit in the whelping box thinking what if....what if we all make it through this....things can only get better.

So very sorry for your loss.

You are doing a fantastic job, well done. Hope you manage to snatch some rest in between feeds.

Keep trying to think positive and looking to when you have come through it all and yes things can only get better. This is a very special litter and I wish you all the luck in the world.

Was so sorry to hear your tragic news, but it sounds as though your pups are doing well, and you too, for the time being!  A story like this does make you think twice about whether you want to risk your bitch by breeding her.  I know the risk is probably slight with a young, fit, healthy girl, but it's still a risk.  I wont use products such as Frontline as I know in 5% of applications the chemical gets into the blood stream.  My breeder friend thinks I'm being completely ridiculous and way too cautious but, I've met one of those dogs. Not a risk I'm prepared to take.  I'm just waiting for one of my girls to be ready to be mated, and this has really made me think hard.
I hope you have success with one of the surrogate mum's helping with the feeding.  Keep us posted.

Just to let everyone know all puppies continue to do well and they even sleep 5 hours at night most nights now.
They were 2 weeks yesterday and their eyes are starting to open. Some are trying to stand up.

A couple of the pups are smaller but I am sure this will change once food is introduced. Did try to do this last week but they refused it and spat it out. So will start trying again this coming week.

Thanks for all the thoughts and wishes and although we have a long way to go we have all survived so far and I can now see the light at the end of the tunnel.

The yellow 3 yr old I had returned 3 weeks ago, has today also got a family visiting  and I really hope he will find his perfect family today to go home with. Now only to get through Friday the birthday of my beloved Beth who died last September.

Best of luck, willing you on all the way.

I'm so glad you have found the strength to get through the endless tasks you've had, we have been 'cheering you on' like everyone else on here. It's lovely to hear that this tiny family are finding their way into the world around them--if dogs had heroes you'd be it! Good luck over the coming weeks, I hope you are finding good days at last and thanks for posting your progress on here, much love from us all xxx
