Cant comment on her dogs as ive never seen them... but those prices ARE accurate when i looked at her site 2 or 3  years ago and i really cant see them having gone down!

Her 'amichien' bonding method is nothing but a very harsh NILIF program with the aims of rank reduction following pack theory - as Moonmaiden says.. something which is shown to be a load of cods by people like David Mech.

It results in dogs depressed, shut down, fearful and insecure and ... in the words of one Nigel Molesworth.. 'as any fule kno'... that leads to agression, biting, unpredictable reactions to things and ultimately.. dogs being put down.

Regarding the prices, as explained in my previous post, were not that expensive 8 to 9 years ago ............... they probably have increased and I have never disputed that fact and I didn't think I said they had gone down in price!!!!!  As for it being a waste of money, you may well be correct, but at that time (which as i keep reminding you was between 8 & 9 years ago) it was something new and had never been tried before in our area.  Sadly the comment about Police Dog Sections having enough knowledge to be able to deal with their issues is extremely naive, you may know certain individuals that are knowledgeable and not stuck in their ways but sadly this day and age those people are a dying breed!
Any new ideas are always welcomed in any field and as previously explained you can take positives out of certain aspects and discard other aspects.  Training & working dogs always throws an anomily or two somewhere along the way and nobody can EVER say they know all there is to know about canine behaviour.  We are always learning and we always will.
I have found certain comments on this post rude, defamatory, generally arrogant and frankly extremely narrow-minded which is rather worrying especially as the people concerned clearly work with dogs.

New ? By the time she became famous the theory was already debunked. She thinks she invented rewards for behaviour Of course she did, only thing is that I was shown how to correctly use reward based training way back in 1984 !! slightly before she got her degree in Human Psychology I think

Really your force must be well behind the times & most are just the opposite & I know more than just a"few"

But her ideas are not new they are as old as the hills & some are even downright dangerous.

She could not train her own dogs to overcome their own abject nervousness & continued to put them under stress by showing them, when they were clearly distressed. Yet she is allegedly a knowledgeable behaviourist, but cannot understand hr own dogs ! Touch of "physician heal thy self" IMHO

 I know some damn rude people who are brilliant with dogs & do not suffer fools at all, they are not arrogant & neither are they set in their ways. I'm not set in my ways either, I've just got home from our motivational clicker pet training class. Now if I'm narrow-minded as you believe why am I using clicker training for pet dogs & not the old fashioned pull & push that was the only way when I started in 1958 ? I haven't used a choker since 1964 !
