oh yeah they got their millions to play with not sure weather its 4 or 6 as papers give 2 diffenrant figures , did you know that out of that 4 or 6 mil whatever it is that their are NO PLANS to do up the childrens playground, so the whole lot looks likly to be spent on lanscaping trees and shrubs it a disgrace i think,

they do however seem to more interested in turning the park into a free for all bike park tell me have you ever tryed to walk thu their from 8.30 am i did it all last year every day and i cant tell you the amount of times me and my son on the walk to school were clipped by bikers as they wizzed past and as for the canal bit you really are dicing with death trying to get thu that bit, my dogs have both been hit one time quite badly and they were on leads at the time they will ruin the park if they keep allowing the madness thats going on at peek hours with the commuter bikers , we ended up riding our selfs in the end as we couldnt beat them we had to join them it was unsafe to walk and then my EBT got ramed in the tummy quite badly so i stopped taken the dogs and we rode but we rode at a normale pace and were careful unlike alot of them,

even when riding to school i found the commutre bikers had no respect for anyone my son struggled a bit and was unsteady on his bike being Autistic it took me a good while to even get him to attempt it,

so going thu there one day and some idiot in his biker gear comes wizzing past my boy so fast as he went by he screamed at him ride on the left my sons was so scared he feel off and their was no way i could chase the man as i had my son on the floor in a right state,

CG,
The thing to do is contact your local park authorities- Southwark in this case- and ask them if Dog Control Orders have been implemented for Burgess Park. If they say yes, then ask on what date this was done and where you can view the detail ( that's just to ensure they have evidence to prove the orders have been actioned). If they have been implemented for Burgess Park then I fear you must oblige and keep dogs on a lead, but it is worth checking.

As I mentioned, there are other parks in the same borough where signage saying all dogs had to be on a lead had to be taken down. The park authorities had been bluffing and did not have the necessary legislation in place to back the signs. A concerted effort by local pro-dog groups forced the council to backtrack.

I'd hate you to get a fine, so please do check out your facts before you challenge one of the wardens.
