diggersdad, any news on how the boy who was bitten is doing?

he is out of hospital,his ear and his arm have responded well to surgery,but the poor lad is very withdrawn and is having nightmares about the attack.like i said in previous posts he was always nervous of dogs but now hes petrified.i honestly cant begin to feel what this poor child has gone through,and i hope for his and his parents sake,that he gets over the mental stress of the attack and can go out with his mates and feel safe like all children should.the dogs owner is being investigated for owning a dangerous dog,and the dog and its pups have been destroyed.thanks for asking, and i will keep u informed on the childs progress and whats happening to the owner. by the way the was a pitbull which i thought had to be muzzled and you couldnt breed them.ps.the owner works and lives in a private area .(only saying this to show whatever your walk of life if your dogs not socialised or trained properly they can turn).i think this is def. the owners fault,as the dog shoulnt have been out on its own,esp if it was tempramental after just having pups.

Glad to hear that the young boy is mending well, physically at least.  I hope that he can continue to recover mentally too, but of course, that could take a lot longer.
It's a shameful situation, and I can't begin to know how he and his family are feeling.
I do hope that once and for all the owner of the dog be prosecuted, as it seems these cases always go very quiet after the fact.

Only today my husband stopped to talk to his brother who was working (another BT engineer I'm afraid!) and some guy was trying to regain control of his 'american bulldog' as it was running amok in other people's gardens, etc and he started up a conversation which went along the lines of slagging off the Kennel Club and stating that most Staffords should be able to be surprised from around a corner with someone 'coming at it' with a bag of balls... well where do you start with ignorant comments like that.  It was his idea of a temperament test....
My husband told me about it and I was furious.  This from a man who's dog was running riot.
Anyhooo - I digress.  Hope the little chap continues to mend x

yep just shows the mentality of some owners.

just found out that the child who was attacked will be off school for a least 6mnths.although he still got his ear lobe the top half is missing and will have to be reconstructed in the near future.they took nerves form his leg and placed them in his arm and hes got some movement in his fingers back.the owner is being prosecuted for owning a dangerous dog and is out on bail.can someone please explain the dangerous dog act to me please.

Depends what you want to know!  Any owner who let's their animal be 'dangerously out of control' in a public place can find themselves on the wrong side of the Act.
