In the kitchen, one in a crate and covered over like a budgie! don't ask he like it like that and won't settle till you put his blanket on top of the crate! The other on a quilt on the kitchen floor.
- By Papillon [gb] Date 03.03.09 15:30 UTC
I'n the living room each in their own crate, they go bed at 9pm and are usually waiting for the crate doors to be opened just before that time lol.
- By shadbolts [gb] Date 03.03.09 15:33 UTC
In the kitchen in her dog basket, she quite often decides that she is tired about 9.30 and takes herself off to bed.,
- By Granitecitygirl [eu] Date 03.03.09 15:35 UTC
LOL @ taking herself off to bed.  When the boys were sleeping in my bed I would get whined and barked at for staying up past 9.30pm because THEY wanted to go to bed.

Oscar has his bed and water in our study. We leave the door open and he has access to the hallway.
- By mahonc Date 03.03.09 15:48 UTC
their beds in the front room, the sofas in the front room, the crate in my room...or favourite my bed. its surprising how you get used to moulding your body around 4 danes...

> he loves watching documentaries with big cats, esp. lions!!

I used to have a rough collie and a westie in our bed. The westies now 15 and needed to be lifted on and off the bed incase she hurts herself. She now has a lovely soft dog bed in the bedroom and has settled fine in it. Amy still sleeps on the bed though

Ha mould your body around 4 danes ! wow that made me smile, i can just imagine, good god
- By TrishlovesMiley [gb] Date 03.03.09 18:54 UTC
Well our two boxers sleep in the utility room and little pug Miley sleeps in her crate in the front room. I love our dogs but i don't have any of them upstairs, i like my childrens and our beds to be dog hair free. :)
- By Freds Mum [gb] Date 03.03.09 19:51 UTC
Fred sleps downstairs under the breakfast bar in his basket with a duvet AND vet bed :-)
He goes up and in bed with my dad in the mornings as he works late shifts and at weekends he comes in with me for a lie in as im off work.

I'd happily have him in my room all the time but id only be making a rod for my own back - there are some things that happen in a bedroom that i like to do in private away from Freddies prying eyes :-)

yeah it can be annoying when they stare while your reading ;)
- By Angelz [gb] Date 03.03.09 20:07 UTC
My dogs bed is in the hall downstairs, sometimes I let him sleep with me but most the time I feel he should be in his own bed, whichever, hes in mine in the morning whist I have my coffee
- By Silver [gb] Date 03.03.09 20:13 UTC
My 4 1/2 year old is loose and varies between in bed/on bed/on chair! The others sleep in their boxes, which are in my bedroom/living room/dog room area as my place is all open plan (except the bathroom!) so no alternative!
- By Princess_venom [gb] Date 03.03.09 20:16 UTC
Mizar used to sleep in bed with me, but when we moved house it was decided that the dog must sleep downstairs. So he now sleeps downstairs in his big plastic bed full of blankets, in the corner of the kitchen.

But likewise to Granitecitygirl, he does get a snuggle on the sofa if I fall asleep downstairs!

some on our bed....some on the sofas and some in the kitchen.
- By dachmad [gb] Date 03.03.09 20:28 UTC
My dachie sleeps with me, usual position is bum on the pillow head under the duvet.Somebody else said they find the snoring relaxing I do as well.My GSD sleeps in her bed in the kitchen. She just takes her self of to bed about 10 o clock .
- By georgepig [gb] Date 03.03.09 21:12 UTC
In the kitchen on his bed or at the top of the stairs with his head hanging off the top step - weird!
- By Pinky Date 03.03.09 21:19 UTC
Mine are like yours Dill, 4 doggie beds and a chair in the kitchen diner, they all make their own arrangements come bed time, night night stroke kiss and cuddle from mum and dad then off we toddle up the wooden hills, the only concession I have to make is that the cats pillow is put out of harms way and she ends up on the table.

Low and behold we come down in the morning and where's the cat? Yep curled up in a heaped with 3 pooches, and usually sticky with GR slobber :)

When we're vanning if it's hot they're in the awning if cold they're in the van, this year that'll be 6 of them

We used to allow our 4 Irish Setters sleep anywhere upstairs whilst we were in bed but usually one of them ended up on the bed at the bottom end.  When I am working away from home my wife had two of them snuggling up to her during the night and it ended up being a fight for space on the bed.  We now shut then outside the bedroom and they are quite happy on the landing or in the spare bedroom.  You just have to mind where your putting your feet if you need to get to the bathroom during the night!!

My lot have a plastic bed in the kitchen, which 2 can snuggle up in- a soft bed in the front room which again 2 can get into, but my old boy likes to come up on the settee with me. If I leave the lounge door open all 3 of them will be on my bed, snoops favourite place when I'm out! also the cat- so if I'm up early with work I try and keep them down stairs. Apart from the cat! Only snoop likes to lie pressing my back! which gives me extreme back ache so he knows now to get into my bed stealth like, I am amazed when i wake up and don't realised they've all gotten onto my bed! Or they go into my son's room and sleep either in his bed or on his armchair.

Basically anywhere they like.... lol!
- By RRfriend [se] Date 03.03.09 22:58 UTC
Our lot sleep on the bed. Our bed, that is ;-)
We've put three beds next to each other, making it a triple bed. Now that we only have three dogs, it feels like
there is plenty of space for us all. I think we would feel rather lonly trying to sleep without the gentle snoring
of the dogs.

hehehehe before i got my ridgie none of our dogs ever got on the sofa on the bed (always had long haired GSDS and too messy) so when we got puppy i said no, dogs dont need to be up, theyre fine on their own beds. everyone warned me that ridgies seek comfort and would end up on the sofa, i laughed and said no. had him 1 week and caved. im so weak. he loves the sofa, and has to have a pillow. he actually nudges cushions into position to lie his head on, unbelievable. cant believe how much they like their comfort.
- By tina s [gb] Date 04.03.09 07:15 UTC
on our bed or if its hot the bedroom floor
- By marguerite [gb] Date 04.03.09 09:29 UTC
My older dogs sleep in the bed with me, keep me nice and warm, and really cuddle in, I sometimes wonder whos bed it is, mine, or the dogs, there is hardly any room left to move about LOL!!! and thats not a large breed.

My two pups sleep in separate cages at the side of the bed, so if they need out during the night, which they sometimes still do, I can hear them, without them making a lot of noise.

One dog I would love to cuddle up to at night is, Teri's ,Midas, or the girls, their fur is so lovely and soft and cuddly, mine have quite harsh coats, so not the same.  LOL !!!!
- By dexter [gb] Date 04.03.09 18:36 UTC
Lots of bed hoggers!! LOL
- By Goldiemad [gb] Date 04.03.09 21:25 UTC
In the living room, in a lovely squishy bed complete with teddy who she collects from the conservatory when I say bedtime. Only exception is if I am laid up in bed, then she creeps upstairs and sleeps at the side of my bed, that's after huffing in my face to make sure i'm still alive!!
