I lost 2lbs at weigh-in tonight which means my BMI has dropped to 24 :-)

Keep it up Ladies!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 18.07.08 09:52 UTC
12st, 6lbs today so BMI now 29.5 which according to NHS direct means "If your BMI is between 25 and 29.9 you're over the ideal weight for your height. Make sure you eat a healthy, well-balanced diet and don't eat more calories than you need to."

So no longer in their obese range ;)

Now wearing size 14.
- By Jolene [in] Date 18.07.08 10:28 UTC
FANTASTIC Barbara...............bet you're well chuffed about that, a HUGE milestone in your journey, bet it makes the bit that's left to do seem more manageable now....I'm so pleased for you :-)

(Size 14's..............it's great isn't it?.......I'm only just into that size with a lower BMI, so it goes to show we are all different :-) )
- By Fluffydog [gb] Date 18.07.08 11:07 UTC

Another 2lb loss for me this week....................looking forward to your update Barbara :-)
- By Angels2 Date 24.07.08 10:37 UTC
Well clothes are fitting better, have given up the chocolate and sweets, only snacking on fruit and drinking lots more water!!! Actually fit into a pair of 3/4 length  trousers that couldn't even pull up 4 weeks ago. :-)
- By Crespin Date 27.07.08 04:26 UTC
Well I havent stepped on a scale, so I cant give a minus or plus of X pounds but, I can say my clothes are looser, and my stomach flatter!

I have been walking, like crazy!  I go slow, so it takes a while, but I figured walking longer, but slower, is still a good walk.

Cant wait actually to get on the scale when I go to the doctors next month!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 27.07.08 10:31 UTC
2 pounds for me on Friday, so down to 12st 4lb, but have been really off the waggon Friday and Saturday so hoping to just stay the same by next Friday by being good the rest of the week.
- By pavlova [gb] Date 27.07.08 10:48 UTC
Maintained this week at eleven stone and half a pound ,  I had a real piggy out day on Friday so now I,m trying to be good until wednesday night unfortunately its our local agricultural show this wednesday as well and I always have an ice cream  (with a flake in of course ) when I treat the dogs.
- By Jolene [in] Date 30.07.08 10:53 UTC

- By Jolene [in] Date 06.08.08 21:43 UTC

Ok, Im back on the weight loss scene. I had a slight blip when my ex partner left me. I lost 10 pound in 2 weeks then put it all back on again and now Im on a strict budget money wise so its gonna be harder than ever! I will report back next week!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.08.08 00:44 UTC
Well definitely 11st 13lbs this morning.  That makes me a BMI of 29
- By Jolene [in] Date 09.08.08 06:16 UTC
Good stuff Barbara, I'm really pleased for you :-) 4 more BMI's to go to reach healthiness!..............I'm weighing in next tuesday, but have a party to go to after B'mouth Champ Show on monday........time will tell ;-) whether I'm good or not :-D
- By perrodeagua [gb] Date 09.08.08 09:22 UTC
Umm I gave up before I even started.  Will be going out tomorrow to buy my diet things for next week!
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.08.08 10:14 UTC
It really only means getting rid of things you are best not eating (snacks, high in fat etc) and getting in Fruit and Veg instead and healthy lean meat and wholegrain carbs and potatoes rive etc.

Fat free or low fat dairy.

Lidl do low fat Mozzarella which is only 8.5% fat, and half fat cheddar is easily available if you really must have cheese.
- By pavlova [gb] Date 09.08.08 11:11 UTC
I,m doing ok at the moment 10 stone 12 this week so as my target weight was 11 stone I,m pleased with that I,ve given myself one day a week where I relax the diet and so far it seems to be working .
I,m trying to maintain my weight loss this time as thirteen years ago I lost all my excess and then slowly piled it all back on.
Its important to me that I still call in for a weigh in if not every week then at least every other as I feel I can keep control better .I never want to get that big agan if I can possibly help it also I like my group meetings for the social aspect its nice to meet up with another group of people without the dog in tow lol.
Its almost a year since I got to target so  I think I,m winning the battle.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 09.08.08 22:32 UTC
Well I hope once I am at goal this time that I can maintain like you are doing, well done :)
- By LindaMorgan [gb] Date 12.08.08 14:34 UTC
Just got on the scales and had lost weight hadn't realised.  37lb is quite a biggy for me, not as slim as I wanted to be for my hols but personally I didn't think I would even get this far.

Linda
- By pavlova [gb] Date 12.08.08 14:53 UTC
Thats great Linda well done
- By Crespin Date 13.08.08 20:11 UTC
Well, just got back from the doctors, and he had me step on that dredded scale.  DOWN 4 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!     Ok, it isnt much, but it is so hard for me to keep my weight steady, and I have been trying to eat right and exercise.  Now I am gonna ruin it though, and eat dog show food this weekend!!!
- By Jolene [in] Date 13.08.08 21:11 UTC
Fabulous...............well I lost just half a lb this week, not bad considering I drank half a bottle of wine, a portion of banoffee pie with another serving of carrot cake, both with fresh cream on monday afternoon :-O
- By Rach85 [gb] Date 14.08.08 07:53 UTC
I lost 4lbs somehow last week when I did my weekly weigh in on my scales :)

2lbs off for me this week! another 5 to go and I reach Goal! How's it going for you Barbara?
- By pavlova [gb] Date 20.08.08 20:56 UTC
Brilliant Jolene
I,ve just got back from weigh in still in target and I,m sat here enjoying a large ham and mushroom pizza that my daughter left in the freezer when she moved out last week.
- By Brainless [gb] Date 20.08.08 21:35 UTC
I was 11st 10lb on Friday but had a bit of a binge on cashew nuts and pistacios saturday ;)
- By craigles Date 21.08.08 06:26 UTC
Well done to you all, my friend text me last night to say she'd got her 4stone award from SW.  I joined when she did, she continued I didn't!  Now do I feel bad.....yes...I need to lose weight but never feel motivated, how do you all do it?
- By Jolene [in] Date 21.08.08 06:46 UTC
Sheer determination Lesley :-D ...............once I've made up my mind, I really go for it, plus I hate having to pay to be weighed, so go all out to do as well as I can so I don't have to pay for so long :-D

Alot of it is what state of mind you're in, and if you're not really into it, it's hard going. I was sick of being fat and having a very tight waistband cos I refused to buy a larger size ........so far I have dropped 4 sizes, I don't think I'll drop more than that now, but that's OK, I'm happy with my size now and feel so much better for it.....

....................you have to want to do it for yourself IMO

45lbs down, 5 to go ;-)
- By Brainless [gb] Date 22.08.08 07:37 UTC
Stayed the same this week at 11st 10lbs BMI 28.1, 70lbs lost 19 to go.
- By Jolene [in] Date 22.08.08 08:11 UTC
keep away from the nuts this week Barbara :-D but well done anyway, when you put the figures down, it looks and is, very impressive........
- By Brainless [gb] Date 22.08.08 08:53 UTC
Will try to.  This is the stage when it starts to get annoying as even when you stick to it sometimes you won't loose or even God forbid gain a Pound.
- By Dogz Date 22.08.08 09:57 UTC
Please keep focused.
It is a fantastic feeling when you are slimmed down.
I am finding it hard to maintain, but the answer must be in posititve thinking.
We must all keep the mental images of ourselves POSITIVE. :)  Constantly reminding ourselves of how much better we look and feel.
Then allow ourselves our treats and remember to fuel our bodies PROPERLY at meal times.

Karen :)

Thanks Lea.....................don't know what I'll do when I reach goal.....................6 months of following WW's................it's gonna be weird being able to eat a bit more LOL :-)
- By Jolene [in] Date 09.09.08 23:39 UTC
Woo Hoo!!!!!!

Reached my Goal Weight tonight..............I'm so happy :-D I'm gonna lose a couple more lbs to sit under the goal weight so I have something to "play" with!
- By Dogz Date 10.09.08 12:52 UTC
WOW........................
So proud of you!!!!!
Do stick to the plan of getting a couple of lbs under goal, as it slips on so easily, and it is much easier to have a bit of leeway.
But huge celebrations called for well done.
Karen :)

To any people who are losing a major lot of weight, does your skin go back to nearly normal after being stretched? Ive seen on tv where it gets removed, my cousin has lost 4 stones but is still 18stone, im about 3-4 stone over weight but we are both getting older at 51 years, obviously the ealsticity goes and it wont go back to what it was when we were younger and after having babies etc years ago, just wondered?
- By Brainless [gb] Date 10.09.08 14:23 UTC Edited 10.09.08 14:31 UTC

> does your skin go back to nearly normal after being stretched

I would say yes, but it does take a bit of time, and while loosing weight it plays catch up.  I don't think it will ever go back to what it was before children though as even when I was slim before I always had that slight bit above the pubic area that was like a  deflated balloon, no amount of sit ups etc shift that as it is the skin not the muscle.

I suppose a lot depends on how supple your skin is.
- By pavlova [gb] Date 10.09.08 15:08 UTC
Well done Jolene!!!
I knew you could do it.
I,m of on holiday in three weeks at the moment I,m one pound over target so I could do with a couple of good weeks to give my some room for holiday indulgences.
Sharon
