Looked back at half a dozen certificates and they are all different, 2 have only 3 marked, 2 have 5 marked (one with a 0) and 1 has 2 marked and the last has 6 on all the blanks are marked with a dash.

If they are just scored through that means that your dog has no problems in that area, not that they haven't been scored!

My spanish always seem to have the last 4 columns clear but I have seen others that have scored slightly on the last 4.  If you dog hasn't got any in the last four be happy because that means that they haven't got arthritis etc.

Thats what I thought, but wondered if I was wrong as I have seen highish scores and still the final 4 not completed.

The leaflet from the BVA (quite technical) was called something like "Hip scoring crieria......" and explains in deatail what each aspect and score means.  the other leaflet was one called Hip dysplasia a Guide for owners and was an overview of HD and scoring.

> Has anyone seen a score for any but the 3 mentioned in my post above, and does anyone know why they are not always scored? On mine, the results columns are just crossed through, not shown as 0

That is because they are zero's and it is quicker to score through than write zero over and over, it doesn't mean the feature is not scored.

An average good scoring dog will only have numbers in the first couple of features, as most of the latter ones score once there are severe changes and arthritic growths.

This is the leaflet that gives full details and can be ordered free from the BVA "HD Scheme Interpretation of Criteria - a detailed explanation of the scoring criteria illustrated with over 40 radiographic images reprinted from The Veterinary Record" http://www.bva.co.uk/public/chs/chs_orderform.pdf
