What do you all think about Advocate ?  As part of my vets healthy pet club they've given this to use monthly. My border terrier has never had a tick let alone fleas. She is well groomed and I'm always on the outlook for any little visitors.  Advocate appears to be very potent and I'm not particularly happy to give her this spot on.  Any advice please ?

If your dog doesn't have ticks or fleas then why put unneeded chemicals on/in her...simple as that in my opinion

Advocate doesn't protect from ticks.

I use Advocate on Zuma but only every 3-4 months and only because he had very mild lung worm some years ago, never every had a flea on him even before I started using it and very very rarely even found a tick on him.

Advocate is not for tick prevention.

It is mainly used and marketed for lungworm prevention.  Assess lungworm risk in your area, and decide with your vet whether to use Milbemax, Panacur or Advocate for a preventative if needed.

Thanks for replies. I use Milbemax for worming so I feel she's well covered is she not. I do get quite a lot of slugs though she's not interested in them or snails.
